Portrait Photographers Helping Graduates to Still Celebrate Their Milestone During COVID Epidemic
Updated: Apr 4
Don't Let COVID-19 Steal Your Graduation Thunder!
You worked hard to earn your degree, but more than that, you worked hard to pave your way into this crazy world-- and 2020 just got crazier! So many schools, colleges, and universities are postponing or canceling graduation ceremonies in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. It makes sense. Times like these do not call for large assemblies and crowded places, but where does that leave you? You still deserve to be recognized! Graduating is always worth celebrating, and this next chapter of your life earns to be marked!
COVID-19 doesn't have to steal your thunder. Maybe you can't get your graduation ceremony, but you can have your senior portraits!
Our favorite thing about Senior Portraits is that they are not only a reflection of the closing of one chapter in your life-- but the beginning of another. Your graduations are much more than a cap and gown, and I mean that physically and metaphorically!
The imagery from your photo sessions are of you, front and center with a degree under your belt, and your eyes set facing forward to all that is come. We may not always know what the future will bring, but we can know what direction we want to set our sails.
We want you to ask yourself: What kind of future am I going to build?
Because we are here to help you document that!
I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Neither of us (Leo and Sara) is currently using our degrees in the literal sense.
Sara graduated with two bachelor's degrees in English and Secondary Education. My wife was always a sucker for a good story. She has a passion for connection, language, and all the things that bring us together through the human experience. Through earning her degree, she solidified her love of stories and discovered just how important it is to tell them.
I graduated with a degree in the surgical field. It was through my work within the hospitals that I saw people, lives, and stories intertwine. Sometimes the hospital is the beginning of a story, sometimes it is a turning point, and sometimes it is the end. My experience working in the field taught me a lot about life and, most importantly, how important it is to capture and treasure what we can.
While we may not be using our degrees in the conventional sense-- we would not be the same people without them. We would not be the same photographers had it not been for that portion of our journey, and to that, we are grateful!
You are a graduate now, and your degree is more than a formal piece of paper. Graduating is a monument of your hard work. It is a symbol of the time, effort, and energy you put into cultivating something for and within yourself-- and who wouldn't think that is something worth celebrating?
You can still get a lot from your photo shoot.
Some of our clients are already using their favorite photos to send graduation announcements for their graduation party from their senior sessions. Others Are excited to have original artwork on their wall that symbolizes who they are and what they are all about. Then, there are some that simply love having their senior portrait session experience because it is one of the safest ways to currently celebrate.
